More information about the club

Fudoshin Aikido Cardiff is based at Chapter Arts Centre, Canton.

The club, which is a non-profit organisation, owned and run by its members, was founded in December 2005.

We are part of the Mutokukai Europe network of Aikido organisations.

We welcome visitors, beginners and new members.

Our members include people in their teens and their 70s, who have been practising a few weeks or several decades. We are an inclusive club.

Our purpose

We are committed to the exploration and development of Aikido.

All of our income from members’ fees, once our basic costs of rent and insurance have been met, is used to fund courses and seminars featuring teachers of international renown from the UK and abroad. Each year we host several of these.

Fudoshin

Fudoshin means ‘imperturbable mind’.

It refers to a state of mental calm and equanimity that the practice of Aikido fosters.

If you’d like to know more about Aikido, or about the club, please contact us. We’ll be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

Fees and membership

Membership is £20 per month, payable by standing order.

Alternatively, new members who are still deciding whether this is the right club for them pay £6 per class instead.
